Nearly 30 women came together for the quarterly 100+ Women Who Care meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at The Woodward Opera House. More than $10,000 has been awarded since the group's first meeting just one year ago
.
The group learned about three Knox County nonprofit organizations that were nominated by the members for funding consideration. They included The Shane Center, Community Roots and Centerburg Interchurch. After a membership vote, it was determined that The Shane Center would receive this quarter’s funding of more than $3,000.
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, in The Woodward Opera House, with social time at 6:15 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. “We quietly meet for one hour, put some cash in an envelope, and turn that into a huge impact for good in our communities,” said leadership team member Kim Weitkamp.
